Search the web for more info on the TV Licence fee.

We, the undersigned demand the immediate cancellation of the television licence fee.
We believe this is an indiscriminate tax that makes no allowance for personal choice and indeed pays for no meaningful public service.
It is our view that the BBC should be funded by voluntary subscription or sponsorship, and that those who choose not to support the corporation, its aims, values and output, should be free to do so.
The world has moved on since the days when the BBC was central to British life. It is high time that legislation was introduced to catch up with this fact. Any modern government that fails to acknowledge this fact is quite simply defying the will of the people.

TV licensing should definitely be abolished. If all the other program companies can survive with using advertising then i'm pretty damn sure that the BBC can too.
£145 a year is just extortionate and they still keep putting the price up every year and for what?

Conservative, totalitarian pigs!!!

Once upon a time, I thought the BBC gave good value - but with all the other channels on TV & radio, it really is now a dinosaur. We hardly watch or listen to the BBC these days, the quality is very questionable.

I once didn't have enough to buy a licence. Someone came round and told me that as long as there was video receiving equipment (even tho all we were watching were videos at the time), we still had to pay. The fact that we watched videos more than anything back then was irrelevant.

Scrap the licence - maybe charge pay per view or something. Or at least vastly improve the services and especially the programmes - "Saturday night - a great reason to stay in" - give me a break!

BBC should be a subscription service, then it gives consumers the choice. I personally would be happy not to subscribe to it and watch any of the many other free channels.

The true operating costs of the BBC would also be a little less if it's staff wasn't over paid.
